This course, also known as PDSD, is intended for seafarers working on board vessels who have designated security duties.
It is intended to give you the required knowledge to enhance maritime security awareness by recognising security threats, and understanding the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance.
Upon successfully completing your assessment, a certificate will be issued in accordance with Regulation VI/6 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) for Seafarers 1978, as amended. The training satisfies the requirements of Section A-VI/6 paragraph 6 on Security Duties as approved by the Isle of Man Registry and by the Government of Liberia.
You can sit the final assessment straight after studying the material. This is included in the cost.
You do not need to visit a Marlins Approved Test Centre.
