Diversity and Inclusion at Sea

The maritime industry is one of the most diverse industries in the world with seafarers belonging to, or coming from a wide range of cultures, nationalities, faith and beliefs, gender and sexual orientation. Crew may spend a long time away from home, separated from their family and loved ones and this may lead to further depression and loneliness if they feel excluded from the group on board.

This course aims to increase awareness of diversity and create an environment of respect and inclusion between seafarers, regardless of a person’s culture, nationality, faith, and belief or their gender and sexual orientation.
